Getting Clean with Qwik Shower-Wet Wipes

Quik Shower-Big Wet Wipes are great for using when you're on the go and can't get a shower in!

If you've just gotten out of the gym and are in a rush to get somewhere
If you're camping and can't have a shower,
If you've gotten sweaty from hiking, playing a sport...
Or just need a quick clean up,
These Qwik Wipes are great for you!

The wipes are a large, 10"x12", made big enough to use on your whole body for a full body cleaning. They are packed in a small package, great for storing in your purse, gym bag, locker,
back pack, car or pocket! Making them easy to grab, and very quick and convenient.
Quik Shower wipes have an pleasant scent and have Aloe Vera extracts in it, which protect and revitalize your skin. They are also green, being non-aerosol—so there are no fluorocarbon emissions.
Which is great so the scent of the wipes won’t smell so strong that it bothers others.

In my sample pack, I was given 2 of the pre-moistened Qwik shower wipes, so I used one and my husband used the other. We were pleased with the size of the Qwik Wipes as they were able to cleanse the whole body. The smell was great and left me feeling clean. The after effect of the wipes felt a little sticky at first but once the moistness dried it was fine. They are handy wipes, and I love that they're a compact size so it can fit pretty much anywhere.

Qwik Shower Wipes are available to buy at qwikshower.com at very affordable prices.

Melting Down Candles Into Something New

What do you do with your leftover wickless candles? Once my candles all die down, I decided to try melting them and reusing them. I had one very potent, wonderful smelling candle with the scent of pumpkin orange spice. A GREAT Fall scent. And I was sad when it was finished. So I decided to melt it down by boiling a pot of water and setting the candle tin in the water, as it cooled. When all the wax melted, I poured it into a cool puzzled shaped ice tray. I added in pumpkin seeds for a festive mix, but if I could do it over, I would have left those out :)
Anyways, it came out wonderful and leaves a lingering scent wherever you put them.

(I also dipped faux leaves and a few pumpkin seeds in the wax, shown sitting beneath the wax puzzle pieces)

My Nescafe Coffee Samples

I received my Nescafe Coffee Samples and was so happy to find the Peppermint Mocha flavor inside!!

The Nescafe Coffee Sample included 6 pouches, equal to making 6 cups total and a $1.00 off coupon included.

I expected the flavor to be richer but adding in my Torani's Peppermint Syrup made it much better. Today I sipped on the French Roast, added into my hot cocoa and topped with some whip cream :) It was delicious. French Roast has a GREAT smell as well! I will be sharing the rest of these samples with my mother...the Coffee-a-holic :)

Stink Sack Review

I received a Stink baggy from Stink Sack to test out
and see how well it works with keeping stinky scents in!

"Stink sack is an odor-proof, resealable bag with limitless uses. Imagine those dog treats not stinking up your pocket, carrying bait for your fishing trip or even simply stashing snacks for your kids. Stink Sack makes even your common every day to-do list easier, neater and smell free!"

By browsing through Stink Sack's Facebook page, I found that the Stink Sacks begin by starting out with pure 100% non-toxic PE beads! They melt those down and rolls them and form them into the Stink Sack's. That is really cool.

I tested out the Stink Sack by cutting a ripe JalapeƱo in half and placing it inside, sealing the bag and leaving it on the counter for days. The smell never came out! I sniffed my nose right up to the bag and still no smell. The plastic of these baggies must be pretty strong to keep the scent away! I wonder how these would work with the stinkiest of things?

The Stink Sack comes in several different sizes and even colors, which you can check out HERE

Twinings of London Tea

Awhile back, I signed up to receive 3 free samples of Twinings London Tea and got to choose the flavors I wanted. I went on the fly in choosing, because I'm not TOO much of a tea drinker..well, I wasn't...lol...but I am so glad with the choices I made.
FRENCH VANILLA CHAI CHINA OOLONG and PUMPKIN SPICE CHAI. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the chai flavored teas. They are so great, especially with some milk and sugar mixed in. I had to buy myself some more from the store just because it was sooo good!! I couldn't find any Pumpkin Spice but did find Vanilla Chai and got some. I love it! Great cold weather drink.

Post-It's Super Sticky Adhesive Notes Reveiw

I received Post-It's Super Sticky Adhesive Notes as a free sample and was excited to try their strength out. The commercials make the sticky notes look SO strong...able to hold up a baby and a dog?! Wow! Who wouldn't want sticky notes so strong?
Well..once you try them you will be a little disappointed. They're not nearly as strong as they lead you to believe. We don't really need that sort of strength but they really shouldn't do false advertising so wrongly. I put my sticky notes to the test. I tried the heaviest thing I think the Super Sticky Notes could possibly hold, which was a bag of chips weighing in at 14 oz..much much less then a child or dog.
And these Super Sticky Notes COULD NOT hold. I paper clipped the bag of chips and the Super Sticky Note instantly dropped. I then tried a lighter piece which was a pot holder. The pot holder held! So I decided to try out a regular sticky note-one made without the Super Sticky adhesive...and what do ya know, it held too!
I began trying other items on both sets of sticky paper and they seemed to have the same strength so that was kind of a bummer. However, I did notice that the Super Sticky Notes held my keys up all day long, as the regular sticky notes dropped them about an hour into it.
So I suppose there is some difference in these adhesives, but NOTHING like they want you to believe.

"How To Catch Happy"-E-Book Review

I just read How To Catch Happy, an e-book written by Jim F. Kukral on his journey to finding happy, through fishing. This little book takes 15 minutes -give or take- to read and has great inspiration inside of it. The kind of inspiration that gets you to look at your own life and analyze if you really are living the life you want; If you really are as happy as you think. The author explains that his happy had to come from a negative situation. It seems common, that it takes a major problem in someone’s life, to pull them out and show them how they really should be living life. Us as people should take other’s experiences and try to use them toward our life in a positive influence. For instance, the author realizes that it is not all about money to make you happy in life. Happiness has to come from something that you actually enjoy, something that truly makes you happy. This was a great short reader book. I’m not too fond of reading e-books but I am glad I read this one. It is filled with some great encouragement and I hope each reader gets something out of it.

Ergonomic UGLEE Pen

The UGLEE Pen is a new ergonomic pen invented by Dr. Lee-a doctor who has his BS in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry who has been trying to invent the perfect pen for quite some time! His determination finally paid off when he came up with the UGLEE Pen.

It feels so comfortable in your hand, with the gel like material that grips to the anatomy of your hand. It weighs less then 1/2 an ounce and contains the smoothest ink known. I found that the ink comes out easier then other pens but it occasionally would come out a bit thick. I love the grip of the pen, making writing so much easier on your hand. I would recommend this pen to others, especially people who do a lot of writing!

My Caring Cross

My Caring Cross (previously known as My Comfort Cross) makes beautiful crosses carved from grained olive wood, which was wood pruned from the olive trees around Bethlehem (the birthplace of Jesus). The Crosses are designed to fit comfortably into the palm of your hand as an aid to prayer or meditation. They aid in easing a child's fears, comforting you in a worried or stressful situation, and as a reminder to continue to pray for those in need.
When I received the cross, and held it in my hand, I instantly thought of my grandpa.. My grandpa has been sick and recently found out he has congestive heart failure, and my grandma-his wife-just found out she has Parkinson's disease. It's been a rough journey for them, between hurtful situations, life happenings, and general aging. I feel this cross would be a great piece for them. It is so smooth and splinter free and just feels inviting to hold. I hope it can bring comfort to people who receive it. The Caring Cross would make a wonderful gift for a loved one or even to sell at a fundraising event. Could make great wedding favors as well!

Each cross is $5 plus $3 for shipping and handling. MyCaringCross.com has some great deals going on so be sure to check them out! You can purchase the crosses in big batches as well. Christmas is coming and this just may be a great gift for someone you have in mind :)

One of you as my readers, has the chance to WIN your very own Caring Cross!
The cross will come in a velveteen bag with the informational card to tell it's story.

DIY Baby Girl Dress

Here is another project I worked on from the box of ugly 80's fabric my mom gave to me.
There was a women's skirt in there and I decided to turn it into a baby dress!
I don't have the walk through of how I made it, since It was mostly practice. But when I have a daughter someday, I hope to be able to make cute clothes for her so now is my time to practice! :)

I took the skirt and cut the amount I needed.
The skirt already had the elastic top so all I needed to do was sew the bottom and the sides.
I then took 2 pieces of fabric and made the straps.
Sewed them on and it was finished! Super easy dress!

DIY Kid Jammy Pants

A few weeks back, my mom gave me a box of old clothes, that my Aunt had given her, so I could use them as material for sewing. A lot of the fabrics are ugly, from the 80's style so it has been a challenge to find things to make with them, but with a pair of dark blue stretchy pants, I made my son a pair of jammy pants! I started by using a pair of my sons store bought jammy pants as my pattern and folded them, laying them on each pant leg and cut the shape out, making 2 cuts. Use something to measure the exact length you need, about an inch on the side from normal jammy pants, and about 3 inches on the end so the pants fit.

(As you can see in the pic to the right, I used my son's foam blocks as my measurement...he had his foam blocks all over the floor where I was working, so I figured, why not! :)

Once both cut, I unfolded them and set 1 on top of the other,
outsides facing each other, then pinned and sewed the top sides-
double stitching

 Once the sides were sewn,
I put them into the pants position as you see here,
then sewed the leg seems closed.

I pulled the pants right side in and pinned where I wanted the waist to be and sewed that, while leaving a small opening to thread elastic through. Attaching a safety pin on the end of your elastic makes it easier to pull the elastic through, without losing it. Once elastic is pulled through, I sewed up the small hole.

I used this cute Train ribbon as a design for the bottom-using heat bond would work great for this. But if you don't have that...hot glue holds..at least until a wash that is...but definitely not super glue...

And there ya have it, some cute, frugal, diy kid jammy pants! :)

Checkout my DIY Baby Girl Dress from the same box of ugly clothes! :)

Torani Flavored Syrups Review!

I got to try out Torani's Flavored Syrups, from Shespeaks, in exchange for my review and opinions and I am so glad I did!

I remember seeing this stuff, as a kid, when my mom would take me to coffee shops and let me pick out an Italian Soda. I realized, this is the stuff, Torani Syrup, they would use in making MY Raspberry Italian Soda!

In my package, I received two 750ml bottles of Torani Syrup, plus a recipe booklet, a special offer code to receive a discount at Torani.com, and 5 FREE coupons!!

The flavors I received were "Brown Sugar Cinnamon:sugar free" and the other "Peppermint". Great flavors all in time for these great holidays just around the corner! We love to drink hot cocoa so I knew just what I was going to do with the Peppermint one. I would usually prop a peppermint candy cane in my hot cocoa for the sweet mintyness, but Torani has made this idea much easier. Just add a few drops of syrup into my hot cocoa and stir and I'd be all set! ...Which is exactly what I did...

*Coffee Cup + Stirring Stick
*Hot water
*Milk
*Hot Cocoa Powder
*And Torani's Peppermint Syrup

Pure Deliciousness.

My husband also had the idea to try out the syrup in waffles! Couldn't taste it in them though so it either didn't work or not enough was added, however, he did add the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Syrup to normal Maple Syrup and it was wonderful! It came out tasting just like cinnamon rolls on our waffles!

They're also great in adding extra flavor to cookies! The experimentation's are endless :)

Torani really makes great tasting syrups and they have tons and tons more flavors to choose from! You can see a list of their flavors HERE. We love to experiment with new things and will continue to do so with these syrups. As well as any new flavors we buy along the way :)

A View From Our Halloween

I love this time of year where the Holidays seem to be one right after the other. Filled with coldness that tends to make me lazy..in blogging..lol. So here is a post filled with some photos of our Pumpkin carving and Halloween. Enjoy!

This is the pumpkin my husband carved for our son. It's suppose to be The Mask of Life from Bionicles.

Fun table decorations and Our Halloween meal :) Halloween pancakes for breakfast, Jack-o-Lantern Pizza's with carrots on the side for dinner, and candy corn cupcakes for dessert!

We all dressed up and went trick or treating :) My hubby was a barbarian, my son Wolverine, and me a witch! And here was my quick fix to witch shoes :) Black Moccasin Slippers with yellow construction paper square cutouts taped on! Extremely easy!
